Bathroom Vanities & Cabinetry

Choosing the right cabinets and vanities for your remodeled bathroom is critical in creating a well-designed and user-friendly space. In addition to the cabinet style and finish, quality craftsmanship is of utmost importance to ensure the longevity of your remodel. That’s why Hatchett Design Remodel works with companies like Mid Continent Cabinetry.

About Mid Continent Cabinetry

Mid Continent Cabinetry is a long-time partner of ours. With a wide array of customizable bathroom cabinets and vanities, we know you’ll be happy with your new cabinets for many years to come.

Their bathroom cabinet collection provides furniture-quality storage in a variety of styles, colors and finishes to suit any design, including under-sink storage, wall storage, or classic vanity storage.

Bathroom Cabinet Storage

The Scudder master bath cabinets are maple and are painted white. This customized combination of cabinetry provides both under-sink storage and two types of wall storage from Mid Continent’s Towne collection. On the far left side, we installed a wall unit with cabinet doors that allows items to be hidden away from plain sight.

However, between the sinks, we chose an open shelving model for easy access to those items that are used daily.

Vanities for Aging in Place

In the Buckalews’ bathroom, their vanity and wall cabinet are made of oak and finished in a slate stain. The enclosed wall cabinet features Mid Continent’s Concord door style. To the left of the wall unit, we installed an under-sink storage vanity with Concord doors. Then to the right, they chose a wheelchair accessible sink cabinet.  Thoughtfully customized designs like this one allow homeowners to age in place as they head into and beyond retirement.

Traditional Vanities

During the Robinette’s master bath remodel, they decided to remove the large soaking tub. This choice allowed room for all three types of Mid Continents storage cabinets. On one side of the bathroom, they have double under-sink storage vanities and a wall storage cabinet.

In place of the old tub they rarely used, Mrs. Robinette was thrilled to finally have a traditional vanity where she can sit and prepare for her day. These Mid Continent bathroom cabinets are cherry with a cranberry stain and black glaze.

Vann Bathroom Remodel

‘Tis the season to remodel your bathroom with Hatchett Design Remodel. To get you in the spirit, here’s a peek at a recent project our team completed for the Vann family.

Raytrace Rendering of Vann Bathroom Remodel

During the initial consultation, Mrs. Vann requested small black and white tile for her bathroom floor. Right away, Tara’s face lit up, because she loves that retro style. It’s a timeless design choice that offers a great deal of visual interest with the contrast between the black and white tiles. Their existing flooring had significant water damage that needed to be addressed, but it wasn’t anything we couldn’t handle.

Vann Bathroom BEFORE

In addition to new floors, the Vanns also wanted to replace their toilet, upgrade to a larger vanity with more storage and replace the existing tub/shower unit with a luxurious tiled shower.

Vanity

They selected a Mid Continent vanity with the Thomas door style and gray paint called Stone. With 2 sets of 3-drawer stacks and a center door cabinet, we greatly increased their bathroom storage. Like many older vanities, their original one was awkwardly short. Since Mr. Vann is a tall man, Tara recommended a 36″ H vanity.  Such a simple change can make for a huge improvement in your daily routine. For the cabinet hardware, the Vanns chose Top Knobs Pennington Bar Pulls in matte black to complement the floors.

The tops are white polystone to contrast the gray cabinet, and the widespread faucet is a Delta Cassidy in chrome.  They chose their accessories from the same Delta line, because they wanted everything to match.

Shower

For their luxury tile shower, they selected a large format gray tile. We used 12×24 Unique Stone tiles in soft gris for the walls and 2×2 Unique Stone tiles in pewter for the floors. We added his and her niches on either side of the bench for additional storage. Then we finished the shower with matte black hardware on the glass shower door to complement the cabinet hardware.

Customizations

The personal touches that make the Vanns bathroom unique are the frame for the vanity mirror and the light fixture over the vanity.  We ordered the custom matte black frame from Mid Continent. Then we found a retro style black and chrome light fixture that ties everything together beautifully.

Paint Color

The Vanns knew they wanted gray on the walls, but let’s just say there are far more than just fifty shades of that color! Tara narrowed the selection down to her favorite Benjamin Moore grays, which helped the Vanns choose Gray Owl for the walls with white trim.

When the project was complete, Tara returned to the Vann home to take our “after” pictures. The Vanns kept saying how pleased they are with their remodeled bathroom, and Mrs. Vann is particularly fond of the wall color.

Seeing their excitement is why we love what we do.  Congratulations to Jake (remodeling consultant), Tara (designer), Tommy (project manager) and our entire crew for another job well done!

Lawheed Bathroom Remodel

A referral is the highest compliment we can get at Hatchett Design Remodel. Therefore, we were flattered when Mr. and Mrs. Lawheed requested to work with Jordan and Ashley based on a recommendation from a former client.
Lawheed Master Bath BEFORE
Jordan was the remodeling consultant, and Ashley was the designer for the Lawheed project. When we first met with the Lawheeds, they had recently purchased a new home in Sandbridge but had not yet moved in. They were anxious to begin their bathroom remodel, because they would soon be hosting their daughter’s wedding in their backyard.

The Design Process
Mrs. Lawheed’s experience in theatrical set design proved to be very helpful in expediting the remodeling process. She had a clear vision for the space which facilitated the design and selection phases.

She chose Ultracraft cabinets made of red birch wood with shaker wide doors and storm grey stain. The vanities are topped in New Castle Cambria Quartz countertops with undermount sinks.

Brushed nickel hardware and fixtures are the perfect accents for this coastal inspired space. The 5″ Griggs pulls are from Top Knobs, and the plumbing fixtures are from the Delta Lahara collection.

12×24 matte Motion Ivory tile cover the floors, while 6×24 polished Motion Ivory tile finish the walls of the shower.

As an accent tile, Mrs. Lawheed selected sliced khahi pebbles for the shower floor, recessed cubby and the ledge behind her gorgeous free standing tub. If you’d like to copy her tub in your bathroom, ask us for the Mirabelle Ocala 66×32 tub in white.

Meeting Our Deadline
With special attention to our deadline, we worked diligently to ensure this project stayed on track, on budget and on schedule. Dennis, the project manager, also made sure that downtime between the two bathroom projects was minimized. We are proud to say that with our coordinated efforts, Hatchett Design Remodel finished the Lawheeds’ bathrooms ahead of schedule!
