Hatchett Design Remodel is delighted to share the kitchen remodel we recently completed for the Beal family. Their kitchen is a prime example of how white cabinets can make your kitchen appear much larger.

White Cabinets
The Beals decided to keep their original cabinets, but we painted them Divinity white. The white surface of the wall cabinets bounces light around the kitchen and brightens up the space.

AFTER |
We replaced the old island with a larger one. The cabinets are from the Mid Continent’s Thomas collection, and they are painted Flint gray.
Tile & Countertops
The backsplash tile ties the white and gray cabinets together. For added visual interest, these Carrara 1″x3″ subway tiles from Mosaic Tile were installed in a chevron pattern.

Functional Work Space
Jessica, the designer, incorporated two sinks into this remodel. In addition to the Kohler Whitehaven apron sink, there’s an Indio bar sink in the island to help with food prep.

Mixing Metals
While they chose polished nickel for their cabinet hardware and sink fixtures, Jessica suggested mixing metals by adding Winter Gold light fixtures from Capital Lighting’s Carrington Collection.

Can I say “all of it”? If I had to narrow it down, the light fixtures and farm sink. Love, love, love!
I really liked Hatchett’s organized, methodical approach to the remodel. Our Project Manager, Tommy, kept us on time and on budget. He also helped make recommendations along the way that allowed for us to improve the initial plan even more… and he made the farm sink fit! Communication was great and all contractors were kind, professional, and thorough.
We honestly wouldn’t change a thing!
Kudos to our team led by Michael, the design consultant; Jessica, the designer; and Tommy, Project Manager. The Beal kitchen is another job well done!
