Free Remodeling Seminars

Hatchett Design Remodel has renovated thousands of homes in Hampton Roads. We have over 50 years of experience remodeling kitchens, bathrooms, additions and more. Every project is unique, but there is one thing all remodeling projects have in common… questions from homeowners! That’s why we’re hosting free remodeling seminars.

According to Don Hatchett, “one of the biggest hurdles for homeowners is knowing where to start on their remodeling project.” The unknown can be very daunting. How do I pick a contractor? How do I figure out what I want the space to look like? How long will it take? Can I live in my house during renovations? How much will it cost? Is financing available?

Remodeling Seminars in Newport News & Virginia Beach
These types of questions can bog you down and leave your project in a stalemate. To help you understand how to get from the “Before” to the “After”, our team is hosting two free remodeling seminars. One will be held in our Newport News showroom starting at 6pm on Thursday, October 11. The next will be the following week at our Virginia Beach showroom at 6pm on the 18th. Both seminars will be hosted by Meghan Hatchett and one of our top designers, Jessica.

What to Expect
While we have planned these events around our clients’ frequently asked questions, we want to make sure your specific concerns are addressed as well. Meghan will kick off the discussion by explaining Hatchett’s design process. This process is one we have fine tuned over the years to maximize efficiency while minimizing costs and stress. Jessica will then cover hot topics including the industrial style, colors of the year and other current trends in design.
Titcomb Bathroom Before & After
Jessica will also show you how Hatchett uses technology in the design phase of our process – something we’ve been doing since before Joanna Gaines made it popular!
Ngo Design Rendering & After
Open Q&A Session
After their informal presentation, they will open the floor to a Q&A session. Don Hatchett encourages all attendees to participate in this open discussion, because “it’s a great, pressure-free way to gain knowledge about the remodeling process.” Jessica added, “we hope people gain a better understanding of how the remodeling process works and what to expect whenever they’re ready to remodel.” While HGTV has brought remodeling into the spotlight, Hatchett’s seminars will provide more detailed, realistic information that will better prepare you for your future renovation endeavors.

Registration Information
Space is limited, so please register by October 8th for the Newport News seminar and by the 15th for Virginia Beach. To register, simply email Meghan Hatchett at meghan@hhi-remodel.com. Be sure to let her know which seminar you would like to attend and who will be in attendance.
Atkinson Outdoor Addition Before & After
Since many folks will likely be coming straight from work, we will have cheese and crackers for hors d’oeuvres… and wine, of course. Non-alcoholic alternatives will also be provided.
If you need more information before the seminar, feel free to call Hatchett Design Remodel or stop by our showrooms in Newport News and Virginia Beach. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have… it costs nothing to ask!

Toys for Tots Ends Soon!

Hatchett Design Remodel’s annual collection drive benefitting Toys for Tots ends this Friday, December 15th. Many generous folks have already dropped off their donations, but we are still in need of toys for hundreds of children in Hampton Roads.

Donated toys do not have to be extravagant, and anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated! A basketball or jump rope could provide hours of healthy entertainment to a child.

Coloring books and activity books provide a great alternative to screen time.

Blocks or an erector set will unleash a child’s creativity. These types of toys also help children develop hand/eye coordination and math skills in addition to many other benefits.

Donate a board game, a box of dominoes, or a deck of cards. A traditional deck of cards will do, but there are many creative designs available if you’d like to make your gift a little more special.

For more gift ideas, check out our Toys of Tots blog and our Shopping for Tweens blog.

And if you just don’t have time to shop before Friday, we’ll accept a check. Please make checks payable to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Your donation is tax deductible.

Again, anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated. Your generosity is sure to make this Christmas merry and bright for a child who would otherwise go without.

Help us achieve our goal of 1,000 toys for 1,000 children! Drop off a new, unwrapped toy or your check at our showrooms in Newport News or Virginia Beach. Both showrooms are open 10am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Remember, your donation is more than just a toy, it’s a gift of joy.

Toys for Tots 2017

Hatchett Design Remodel has decked the halls for this year’s Toys for Tots drive. We are collecting toys now through December 15th, so keep our tots top of mind while you’re out shopping this weekend.

If you’re not quite sure what’s hot and what’s not, Good Housekeeping has compiled a good go-to list of 2017’s top trending toys.  Woman’s Day has put together their own list, and 20 of their top 30 toys are $30 or less.

Those of us here at Hatchett are a wee bit partial to a few of their gift ideas, like the Chef Kit and Good Housekeeping Cook Book. We’re in full support of instilling an appreciation for the kitchen.

We’re also big fans of Playthings Playsticks to nurture budding designers.

You could inspire a young musician by donating a ukulele.

You could put a new spin on the classic game of hoops with a glow in the dark basketball set.

Or simply remind kids (and their parents) that it’s okay to just be silly. The whole family will have some good ol’, not-so-clean fun with a round of Pie Face.

Please don’t forget our teens and tweens this Christmas. Shopping for these kids can be challenging, but Real Simple is taking out the guess work with their creative list of gift ideas.  This puzzle globe provides a fun activity that doubles as room decor, AND it’s educational!

Whatever gift you choose is sure to make this Christmas brighter for a child who would otherwise go without.

If you would like to help us reach our goal of 1,000 toys, please bring your donation to either of our showrooms in Newport News or Virginia Beach. Both showrooms are open 10am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Remember, your donation is more than just a toy, it’s a gift of joy.
