Mr. and Mrs. Browning contacted Hatchett Design Remodel, because they wanted to update the kitchen in their Virginia Beach home. Overall, they were happy with the bold green color of the walls and the footprint of their kitchen, but they wanted the space to be more functional and up to date.
White and BrightThe original space was dark and felt heavy. The new white shaker cabinets from Mid Continent really pop against the bold green color of their kitchen walls. The new design is bright and cheerful.
To complete the look, the countertops are Pacific Ocean Silestone Quartz, and the brushed nickel pulls are from Top Knobs‘ Lydia collection.
Storage SpaceThe layout of the Brownings’ kitchen remains the same, but we increased the size of the island and replaced their furniture pantry with a larger pantry cabinet.
These design choices added to their overall storage space and created a more cohesive look. For even more storage space, their new cabinets extend higher up the wall giving them another shelf of storage inside each cabinet.
In their base cabinets, we installed pull-out drawers, spice pull-outs, pot lid holders, tray dividers, trash can pull-outs, and 2 Lazy Susans that help keep their kitchen supplies well-organized and easy-to-access. The Brownings have so much storage now that they haven’t even filled all their cabinets yet. They are very happy with how their remodeled kitchen turned out, and they love showing it off to friends and family.
