About Hatchett Design/Remodel

Hatchett has been providing Design/Remodel, Kitchen and Bath, Home Repair and Light Commercial services for nearly 50 years.
Clarence Ford Hatchett founded Hatchett in 1960 with a vision to provide exceptional construction services to Southeastern Virginia. We originally started as a siding and roofing company but we have evolved into the premier firm that handles every aspect of the home.
Donald L. Hatchett the president and CEO, manages and controls the firm today. Even though we have continued to grow our values still remain intact: to provide the highest standard of service to our clients that can only be accomplished through the enthusiasm, dedication and hard work of our team.

Our Design Team
Michael Hatchett Michael is the third generation in the family business. He has his undergraduate degree from Hampden-Sydney College and a MBA from William & Mary's Mason School of Business. Before joining Hatchett in 2005, Michael worked for Ferguson Enterprises as a sales person and branch satellite manager which gives him a strong wealth of plumbing product and installation knowledge. He consults homeowners on a wide array of services from simple home repairs to complex design projects.
Jessica Whitbeck
Majoring in Kitchen and Bath Design in the Housing department at Virginia Tech, with a minor in Interior Design, Jessica has been a tremendous asset helping clients with their kitchen and bath projects.
Her favorite activities include attending Virginia Tech football and basketball games, traveling and spending time with family.
Christy Adams
Our Kitchen and Master Bath Specialist, Christy, has more than 12 years of experience in residential and commercial interior design, with 5 years specifically in Kitchen and Bath design.
Christy has a four year degree in interior design, Certification for Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry Product Training, Starmark Certificate of Completion for Product and Sales Training and Cabinet Design, Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist, Certification in NAHB course on Home Modifications Course, Certification in NAHB course on Working With and Marketing to Older Adults Course and Certification of Completion on Profitable Showroom Design Course.
When Christy is not designing, she enjoys reading, saltwater fishing and relaxing at the beach with family and friends.

Ken Hatchett
Ken is our construction expert. He has fifteen years in the construction industry, and in 2006, he was the President of the Peninsula Homebuilders Association. Also, he is a Certified Graduate Remodeler and a design certification for "Aging in Place."
Coaching his boys in youth baseball and fly fishing are his favorite past times.
Kevin Alligood
Kevin is a bath and construction specialist. With over 11 years in the building industry, he has developed a reputation for creating and designing affordable space for many different budget levels. He has a design certification for "Aging in Place."
Spending time with family and friends, golfing and attending professional and college sporting events especially football are some of his favorite activities.
Chris Thomas
Chris is a home repair and construction specialist. His unique knack for problem solving has helped many clients to identify problematic areas in their home. Once the problem has been identified, he will design affordable plans to fix the problem. He has 8 years of experience in the remodeling industry which also includes major construction projects such as additions. He has a design certification for "Aging in Place."
Coaching his son in youth soccer and basketball and golfing are some of his favorite activities.
